Handling Charts

All relevant informations about charts are stored in files. This chapter describes the procedure of opening, saving, printing, exporting and animating charts.

Creating New Charts

Use the menu command File->New or the corresponding tool bar button to create a new file. You can edit the data in the birth data dialog.

If you modified the document data, you will be asked whether you want to save the file before the document is closed.

Editing the Data of Charts

Opening Charts

Use the menu command File->Open or the corresponding tool bar button to open a file. Windows users can also drop the files into the main window.

Saving Charts

Use the menu command File->Save or the corresponding tool bar button to save a file.

If the chart hasn't been opened before, the dialog Save As will pop up. You can enter the desired filename in this dialog. The default extension for the files is "*.mtx" (maitreya text).

Animating Charts

Animated charts will be updated within a fixed interval. These charts give an impression of the movement of the planets.

Animation of charts can be toggled in the context menu of any dependent child window.

The animation interval and the animation steps con be configured in the configuration dialog (expert tab).
